Yashica Camera Collection 1958-1983
Welcome to my collection of Yashica SLR, Rangefinder and Compact cameras !
Yashica was founded by the Japanese Yashima company in 1958 (Yashima Camera hence Yashi-ca) and in October 1983 was aquired by the Kyocera ceramics company.
I started collecting vintage Yashica film cameras as a hobby after picking up an early Yashica SLR and finding it to be very well built. As they are rather underrated most have been relatively cheap to acquire on ebay or at charity shops. I have repaired several non workers and this is some of the fun. The Yashica TLR models tend to sell for higher prices and I have yet to acquire any. The Pre Kyocera models are preferred by me as they seem better made, but then again I may be biased.
These days I exclusively use DSLR's for my amateur photography. (Nikon D90, D70 and Pentax K200D)
